This is a UNITED Motion Fireplace Clock Model #455, manufactured by UNITED Clock Corp. Brooklyn, N.Y.The clock runs and keeps time, while the fire in the fireplace flickers. There is a lever in the back of the clock to start and stop the fire. There is also a switch for the light.  The clock has no back, but action is not affected.
